Top 4 ODI teams to start test match on 26th December

On 26th December, The top 4 ODI cricket teams will be starting to play test match :-) It will be India playing Australia at Melbourne, Australia. This will be the first test match of the series which will be played between both teams. On the other hand, Srilanka will be playing South Africa at Durban, South Africa and this will be the second test match of the series played between them.

I can better say it's MS Dhoni vs Michael Clarke's boys in IND-AUS series and Tillakaratne Dilshan vs Graeme Smith's boys in SL-SA series.

For IND-AUS, it will be a 4 test match series. This will be the first test match between them.

For SL-SA, it's a 3 test match series. Already, one match has been completed. South Africa won the match by an innings and 81 runs. SA is leading SL by 1-0.

People to be watched out in both the series are Vernon Philander, Jacques Kallis, Hashim Amla, Mahela Jayawardena, Kumar Sangakarra, Angelo Mathews, Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey, James Pattinson, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman.

Indian team is touring Australia this winter. They both will be playing a 4 test match series followed by a 2 T20 match series.

Currently, Indian team is in 2nd position in the ICC test ranking list, whereas Australia is in 4th postion. It's gonna be a big event for both the teams as they face for the first time after the World Cup event.

The most notable persons for this tour would be Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. Other person to watch out would be the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. This might be his last tour to Australia and also will be a great opportunity to fulfill his dream of making 100 centuries. So definitely crowds gathered for all those matches would be expecting some great actions that's gonna happen. On the other side, Australia is looking to take its World Cup revenge through this tour.

I recieved a missed call from unknown number yesterday night.... :(

Yesterday night (12th December 2011) around 9:45 PM i received a call from unknown number. As i was hurriedly going to the canteen, i did not realize that i was getting a call. While on the way, when i checked my mobile: there was a missed call. I did not see the number properly (i.e, the country code and all). For instant i taught it might be a call from any of my friends who might have bought a new number. So i called to that number.

After some 10 rings, one guy picked up the call and started to speak up in Hindi and i started to wonder who the hell this is. He introduced himself saying that a name and he is an executive in Vodafone. Then he told me that my number has been selected in the lucky draw and i am eligible for prize money of 15 Lakh Rupees. Immediately, i came to know that this is a scam call. In curiosity i started to speak with him and asking more information’s regarding this. He told me that i have to call a number and speak to the head office manager who resides in Delhi and he gave the number. The number started with 00. The he told me his name which i forgot and said me a code number that has to be provided it was 4836. He forced me to call immediately and speak to him.

The call was automatically cut due to low balance. My balance was Rs. 0.19 :-( All my balance money was gone. I lost around Rs. 46 for this call. I started to wonder "Y the hell i lost so much money to make one simple call?". I then re-checked the number and to my surprise the country code was +91 instead of +92. OMG!!! i have made a ISD call. Though i knew it was a scam, i never taught i would be making an ISD call.

I immediately went to my desk and searched for this number and gave the country code in Google with search as "+92 scam".

There was a heart-attack shock for me because the country code was for Pakistan. I have called to Pakistan and talked to some unknown person for almost 5-6 minutes. My life is in Jeopardy now, don't even know where I will end up when some top officials trace this call and if it is founded that this number belongs to some terrorists group then I will be fucked up. Later, i went through all those discussion forums and finally found out that there are many people like me who were in my situation. I was relieved after reading so many stories.

Today, so far i have received 5 missed calls from same number and finally i have barred that number. The call which they make will not even last for a single ring. So people be very cautious when are dealing with unknown numbers. The number which i got those calls was from "+923418510048". I lost around Rs. 46 and this is what makes me very angry :-(

December 8 - A Memorable day in Cricket history

December 8 2011 was a day not to forget with lot of actions that happened.

2G spectrum case - Subramanian Swamy got permission to depose as a witness in his against the Home Minister P. Chidambaram.

A protest was made by CPI (Marxist) demanding for a new dam in Mullaperiyar. If done so, Tamil Nadu might be in Jeopardy.

Indian share market was suffering huge blow due to European ques. It was almost a plunge of 400 points in NSE. As markets were about to close for the day, India and West Indies started their play which gave a visual retreat for cricket lovers.

India played their 4th ODI cricket match against the visitors West Indies in the 5 series match. The match was played in Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. India needed 1 more win the clinch the series as they were leading the series with 2-1. The toss was won by Virender Sehwag and he chose to bat first.

Indian openers were Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag. This time Parthiv Patel was not the opener and instead the skipper himself opened the innings. The start was perfect and they played pretty well and established a great partnership. The first wicket partnership was 176 runs which was in just 22.5 overs. After the fall of Gautam Gambhir who got out scoring 67 runs, Suresh Raina came in to bat. Raina was showing poor performance in past few matches and this was the right moment and opportunity to prove himself. Raina utilised this opportunity and scored his half-century. Meanwhile, Skipper Virender Sehwag scored his century and was looking very dangerous as he was in his top perform.

West Indies bowlers were suffering from a lot of damage done by Sehwag. Second wicket partnership was 140 runs. Raina got out and Sehwag was still playing. Virender Sehwag surpassed Sachin's World record and scored 201 runs and thus became the highest scorer and second batsman to cross double century in ODI cricket. After scoring double century, he kept his momentum going on. He stayed till 46.3 over, when Kieron Pollard bowled a tricky ball in which Virender Sehwag was tempted to go for an six and ended up giving a catch at the boundary.

Virender Sehwag scored 219 runs in 149 deliveries before falling for Kieron Pollard. He hit 25 fours and 7 sixes making total boundaries to 32 which is also a new World record. Finally India ended up its innings putting up a total of 418 runs loosing 5 wickets only in 50 overs (IND - 418/5, 50 over). This is also the highest score for India.

West Indies struggled a lot when the newbie Rahul Sharma took 3 important wickets for India. Finally, WI ended up scoring 265 runs and lost all 10 wickets (WI - 265/10, 49.2 over). Highest scorer was Denesh Ramdin who scored 96 runs and failed to get his century.

India won the match by 153 runs and the series as well. Man of the match was Virender Sehwag for his brilliant batting performance.

Ravi Rampaul breaks Indian bowling tactics and saves WI to put up a good total

Currently, West Indies and India are playing their 2nd ODI of the series at ACA-VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam. The toss was won by India and they selected to bat first.

Lendl Simmons and Adrian Barath were the openers for the WI team. In the last delivery of the second over, Adrian Barath got out and returned back to the pavilion. This wicket gave confidence to the Indian bowlers and they kept on attacking the WI batsmen. They could not sustain the attack and hence WI batting lineup started to collapse. At one point of time WI were 63 runs for 5 wickets. Kieron Pollard came in to bat he batted well and scored some quick runs which helped WI to recover a bit. After hitting 2 biggies, Pollard could slow down and hence fell for Ravichandran Ashwin who finally removed Pollard after giving 2 sixes in the over.

This was a crucial break for India and they were back on track again. By 36 overs, India managed to pick up 9 wickets by just giving 170 runs to WI. One more wicket, India will have a fair chances to win the match easily. But it did not work towards Indian side. Ravi Rampaul who came into bat at number 9 started to hunt the bowlers. He batted magnificently and replied to the bowlers with fours and sixes. With the help of his partner Kemar Roach, Ravi Rampaul went on hunting the bowlers. Both played well till the end and helped the West Indies team to come out of the disastrous situation and remained not out till the end of the innings. West Indies put up a total score of 269 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs (WI - 269/9, 50 over). Ravi Rampaul was unbeaten scoring 86 runs with 6 fours and 6 sixes. Kemar Roach was unbeaten scoring 24 runs which included 3 fours. The last wicket partnership was 99 runs. I think this might be the biggest partnership for 10th wicket.

Indians took the WI's last wicket very lightly and that is why Indians are suffering. But there is no use in regretting now. Only thing to be done is to hunt down the score successfully.

Current status of the match is Lunch. Yesterday, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. After loosing the first 2 test matches, now its time for the West Indies to avoid the whitewash. Keeping this on mind, West Indies gave a perfect start for the day. The Indians failed to take early wickets at the start. West Indies first wicket fell after its total reached 137 runs. Once the break up of the partnership happened, Indians managed to remove other opener as well in short duration. At the end of the first day, West Indies managed to put up a total of 291 runs and lost only 2 wickets. Indians failed in the first day and they were hoping to make some early dismissals on the second day.

The hope did not become into reality as they managed to remove only one wicket after bowling 13.5 overs. West Indies 3rd wicket partnership was 164 runs. Darren Bravo scored his century and is still batting. As of now, West Indies have played 121 overs and scored 378 runs having a run rate of 3.12 runs per over (WI - 378/3, 121 over). Darren Bravo and Kieran Powell are playing and have scored 108 runs and 38 runs respectively. The partnership between them is 64 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin has took 2 wickets and Ishant Sharma took a wicket.

If, West Indies managed to play till the end of the day then the match would end up in a draw or India will loose the match.

Pandavkada falls - A place to visit for sure :-)

Pandavkada falls during monsoon

We had decided to visit Pandavkada waterfalls long back, but things did not go as we had planned. We had already missed monsoon and the fun was almost gone. But even then, we decided to visit this place for sure before its too late because we all know that we will be leaving mumbai before next monsoon.

It was 1st October 2011, a bright sunny Saturday. Me and my roomies Bhanu and Praveen left the flat (situated in Airoli, Navi Mumbai) with 2 bikes around 10:30 A.M. It was around 30 minutes drive to reach Kharghar. We did not know the exact location and hence we asked some localite and he guided us the route to the falls.

After 10 minutes of drive, we were nearby the hills where the falls is located. They had told us that we have to park the bike and should walk about 4.5 kms. But we were not willing to leave our bikes near the main road, so we decided to ride our bikes in those ruddy paths. We crossed the river, the height of flowing water was very low, and we rode for about 2 kms further. Finally, we had to park our bikes because there was no way to proceed further with our bikes. As the monsoon had already passed there was only a small amount of water that was falling. We were little disappointed by seeing it but even then we did not give up.

So we started walking from there, it was around 2 more kms to reach the falls. It was like a small trek for us and i loved it (coz bhanu n praveen had to walk for such a long distance, basically they are lazy to go out). When we almost reached the falls, we saw a beautiful view of the falls and a pool that was there. We were not sure about the depth of pool as there were plenty of rocks inside the pool. We went closer towards the pool and Praveen decided to step into the pool. In actual, our plan was not to get into pool and have a swim. We just wanted to have a look at the falls and come back home. After some time even i was excited to swim in the pool. So, we both entered the pool and it was very cold :-). As we were not sure about the depth, i went on checking for depth. As there were many rocks beneath the water, there depth was uncertain. Praveen and Bhanu don't know how to swim, so i had to keep checking for the deepness at new places.

It's me

I wanted to get very closer to the falls, so that the water that is falling should hit me directly. So, i took a risk and some how reached that point. The place was very slippery and i had to be very careful. The water started falling on me, it was like someone striking me with a kane, but the feeling was awesome. After some time, Bhanu also decided to jump into the pool and mingle with us. So we all three joined together in the pool and had a great time in the pool.

Then we realised that it was a perfect timing and if we had visited during monsoon, definitely we would'nt have had so much fun. During monsoon this fall is considered to be very dangerous as a huge volume of water jumps directly from a 107 meters rocky mountain.

After around 2 hours, we came out of the pool and left the place. We were very exhausted and had a lunch in a restaurant. We returned back safely at around 4:30 PM. It was one of the unforgettable experience for all of us :-)

Yesterday, Defending champions Chennai Super Kings played against Trinidad and Tobago in the Champions League Twenty20 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The toss was won by the Trinidad and Tobago team and they chose to bat first.

T&T opened its batting innings with the openers Lendl Simmons and William Perkins. The start was pretty good but the things went on an average. They both could hit great knocks as the pitch turned out to be a bowling pitch. They both maintained an average score of around 6 runs per over. After the fall of William Perkins when T&T was 52 runs in 9.3 overs, things started to change as they kept on loosing wickets. At last, Kevon Cooper played some useful knocks and helped the team to put up a total of 123 runs loosing 8 wickets (T&T 123/8, 20 over). Cooper scored a magnificent 28 runs in just 10 deliveries that included 1 four and 3 sixes. Doug Bollinger took 3 wickets.

For Chennai Super Kings this total did not seem to be a big deal. The start was just perfect but it did not last for few overs. Murali Vijay got out in 2.5 over. After the first wicket fall, CSK started to loose wickets very quickly. The bowling attack turned out to be a superb one from T&T team. CSK scored only 75 runs in 16.3 over when skipper fell as the sixth wicket. Then Dwayne Bravo and Albie Morkel both played well and put up a partnership of 36 runs in just 3.3 overs. But this was not enough for the CSK to win and they finally failed to chase the target successfully. Chennai Super Kings managed to scored a total of 111 runs loosing only 6 wickets in 20 overs (CSK - 111/6, 20 over). Sunil Narine took 3 wickets.

T&T won the match by 12 runs. Man of the match was Sunil Narine for his brilliant bowling attack.

KKR gave a big blow to RCB....

Today, 10th match of the Champions League Twenty20 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The toss went into the favor of KKR and they chose to field first.

RCB had already lost their first game and they were looking forward to win this match. The superstar Chris Gayle along with his non-strike opener Tillakaratne Dilshan came in to bat. The start looked good as Chris Gayle was and Dilshan were playing but not very aggressive though. Gayle managed to hit 3 sixes, but after this he failed to hit big and he returned to pavilion scoring only 25 runs in 16 deliveries. Things started to mess up as they started to loose wickets. At one point of time, they were 91 loosing 6 wickets. A much needed partnership between the captain Daniel Vettori and Raju Bhatkal helped RCB to bounce into the game. They both made a partnership of 61 runs. Finally RCB ended up scoring a total of 169 runs loosing 9 wickets (RCB - 169/9, 20 over).

The chase looked little challenging for KKR as the required run rate was around 8.45 runs per over. Jacques Kallis and Brad Haddin came in to bat. They both gave a perfect start and did put up a partnership of 62 runs. Brad Haddin got out after scoring 42 runs from 27 deliveries that included 5 fours and 2 sixes. Then came the skipper Gautam Gambhir and he was unbeaten along with Kallis and finished the game in style. Kallis was unbeaten scoring 64 runs and Gambhir with 55 runs in just 31 deliveries that included 3 fours and 4 sixes. KKR won the match by scoring 171 runs with loss of only a wicket (KKR 171/1, 17.3 over).

KKR won the match by 9 wickets. Man of the match was Jacques Kallis for his all-rounding performance where he scored a half century and took a wicket.

Jade Dernbach from England took 4 wickets.

In reply to this England opened its batting innings but soon lost its first wicket in the very second delivery of the innings. England was in trouble as it lost its first wicket without opening the run account itself. But after this, things changed as the batsmen started to attack Indians bowlers. They played very wisely and kept on momentum going. This helped them a lot to build up some useful partnerships. England in 19.3 over, chased 165 runs successfully and became victorious. England scored 169 runs in 19.3 over loosing only 4 wickets (ENG - 169/4, 19.3 over). Eoin Morgan was the highest scorer for England who scored 49 runs in just 27 deliveries that inlcuded 7 fours and a six.

England won the match by 6 wickets. Man of the match was Jade Dernbach. By winning this match, England has sent a strong message to rest of the teams in the world stating that; apart from test cricket, they have become a strong contender in T20 cricket as well.

Suffering from morbilliform rash

On Wednesday, when i woke up in the morning my face started to look little different than normal. I did not take it that much serious on that day and i went to office as usual. By evening, my face started to look very awkward which was very bumpy and swelly. By the end of the day, my body was itching and stinging. I tried to resist for around 1 hour, but after that i gave up. As a result of scratching, i started to feel like being inside a furnace of burning coal.

I could see rashes every where which is in the form of macule and papule. When i touch my skin and hover on it, i could feel like moving a sand paper. There's a saying in Hindi "Pehle mazaa, phir sazaa" (First enjoyment, later punishment). As it tells, even it happened in my case. Whenever i feel an itch, somehow i manage to be in control for around 1-2 hours, but after that i give up. During scratching it feels like i am in heaven, once done i will be thrown back to hell where i can feel brimstone's kept on my skin :-(

When i woke up on Thursday morning, my face looked worse than it was the previous day. So i skipped my office and went to an dermatologist and explained him about whatever things happened. He very calmly and politely listened to me. Later on, he just saw my face using some magnifying lens kind of thing and checked the skin of my hand. He just told me that i am suffering from Morbilliform rash. I was just wondering from where in the world this kind of thing come from :P He wrote some prescriptions that contained some pills, lotions, creams and a soap.

I just asked him a question, will it be cured pretty soon. He just replied me that come after 10 days, i will check it out and let you know. After listening to this, i could hear a broken noise inside me (Wondering; what the f***, it will take around 10 days to cure. What about my face, how can i go to office like this for so many days and so on...... ). As prescribed i took the pills, applied the creams and lotion, used only one soap which was told by him. Yesterday (Friday), when i woke up i could see some improvement on my face but still it was looking weird. I made up my mind and somehow i managed to go to office. When i was at my desk, i was feeling very embarrassing to sit coz i was not that much comfortable to show up my infected face to everyone. I soon went inside the lab and spent my entire day there itself. Happiest thing was, it was evening when i realized that i did not make any single scratch on my body. I was little happy and started to be very optimistic that it will be cured within a couple of days. But i was wrong, as the night was getting nearer and nearer, the sensation of itching kept on increasing. I started to loose my patience and finally at around 6 PM, i started to scratch very vigorously. I could see new bumps forming and again started to feel the pain of stinging in me. Till now i have seen no improvement. Hope i will see atleast some changes on tomorrow.

After triumphing over West Indies, Indians headed to England to play a test series on the hosts. But everything went in vain. India being a best team is now suffering a lot of damage done by England. Indians had to at-least make a draw in the fourth test if they want to remain in #2 position. But even this has become a doubt now. England scored a total of 491 runs loosing only 6 wickets (ENG - 491/6) and finally declared. Ian Bell contributed 235 runs and Kevin Pietersen contributed 175 runs to the team's score. India were all out scoring only 300 runs (IND - 300/10) and started to play their second innings as follow on. Highest scorer from India was Rahul Dravid who was unbeaten scoring 146 runs. As of now, India have scored 25 runs with no loss in the follow on innings (IND - 25/0).

It was expected that this test match would be dropped as the riots in England are getting stronger and stronger. But with proper security and passion both the team players have come forward to play the match. Today, India and England opened their third test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham, England. England won the toss and this time for a change they decided to field first.

Indian blaster, Virender Sehwag is in the team this time and lots of expectations was on him. Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag opened the batting innings for India. First over, Gambhir played well and hit 2 fours. In the next over, Virender Sehwag opened his batting and got out in the very first delivery itself. All the expectations which was on him went in vain as he became duck out. A small partnership of 51 runs between Gambhir and Rahul Dravid helped India recover a bit. This also did not last as they lost more wickets with lesser runs. At one point of time, India were 111/7 and were looking really bad. Yesterday, Srilanka and Australia played their second Twenty20 match at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy, Sri Lanka. The toss was won by the Srilankans and they chose to bat first.

Mahela Jayawardena and Tillakaratne Dilshan opened the batting innings for Srilanka. Tillakaratne Dilshan was unsuccessful again as he got out after scoring 4 runs only. Mahela Jayawardena batted well till 19.2 over and got out scoring 86 runs in 63 deliveries that included 12 fours and 1 six. Rest other players did not make it big, they just contributed few runs here and there. Finally Srilanka managed to put up a total score of 157 runs on board in 20 overs loosing 9 wickets (SL - 157/9, 20 over). Brett Lee and John Hastings took 3 wickets each.

Australia needed 158 runs to win the match and start the innings with the openers Shane Watson and David Warner. Both of the started pretty well and the start given by Shane Watson was outstanding. For the first 6 overs, Shane Watson belted the bowlers hitting the ball in all the corners of the ground. He scored 57 runs in just 24 deliveries that included 6 fours and 5 sixes. He got out in Ajantha Mendis delivery by giving a straight catch to Thisara Perera. After the fall of Shane Watson, Australians lost 3 more wickets in just 3 runs. Hello friends, few weeks back i received a mail with a subject written as "Biriyani lunch in Thailand". Before checking the mail, in my mind it was like "it could be food something made up of snakes, lizards, worms, frogs or combination of all these things".

But i was wrong, this time it was a dead man. Every picture when i went through, it looked very awkward and embarrassing to me. I was feeling like vomiting right away after looking at few snaps. Here are the pictures which i received in the mail. I have never seen such thing before....... yuk...... I wish that i don't even want to see these people in my life......

Second test match: India vs England

Today was the first day of the second test match played between England and India at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, England. The toss was won by the Indian skipper MS Dhoni and he decided to field first.

England started its first innings with the openers Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook. Things started to go weird for the England as they lost first wicket when they reached only 7 runs. Third wicket partnership resulted in 50 runs, which gave some hopes to the team and bought back into the game. However, Indians managed to take 8 wickets in just 124 runs and they failed to remove the 9th wicket quickly. This costed them 73 runs partnership and later on Praveen Kumar managed to take the 9th wicket. Soon after the break of this great partnership Indians some how managed to remove the 10th wicket and ended up the England's first innings with a total of 221 runs (ENG - 221/10). Stuart Broad was the highest scorer in the innings who did the damage for India and he scored 64 runs in just 66 deliveries. Praveen Kumar, Sreesanth and Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets each for India.

In reply to this, India opened its batting innings with the openers Abhinav Mukund and Rahul Dravid. In the very first delivery, James Anderson took Abhinav Mukund's wicket. This left India into jeopardy as they lost a wicket without scoring a single run which was a bad start for them. VVS Laxman came in to bat at number 3 position. At the end of the day, Rahul Dravid was unbeaten scoring 7 runs and VVS Laxman at 13 runs. India has scored a total of 24 runs for the loss of 1 wicket (IND - 24/1).

Lots of action will happen tomorrow and i want Indians to play extraordinarily well and do not end up all out in the second day itself.

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the Doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. That afternoon of March 10, 1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24 weeks pregnant, to Danae Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound and nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature. Still, the doctor’s soft words dropped like bombs. I don’t think she’s going to make it, he said, as kindly as he could. “There’s only a 10 percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one.” Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Danae would likely face if she survived. She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on. “No! No!” was all Diana could say. She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four. Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away.

Through the dark hours of morning as Danae held onto life by the thinnest thread, Diana slipped in and out of sleep, growing more and more determined that their tiny daughter would live, and live to be a healthy, happy young girl. But David, fully awake and listening to additional dire details of their daughter’s chances of ever leaving the hospital alive, much less healthy, knew he must confront his wife with the inevitable. David walked in and said that we needed to talk about making funeral arrangements. Diana remembers, ‘I felt so bad for him because he was doing everything, trying to include me in what was going on, but I just wouldn’t listen, I couldn’t listen. I said, “No, that is not going to happen, no way! I don’t care what the doctors say; Danae is not going to die! One day she will be just fine, and she will be coming home with us!”
As if willed to live by Diana’s determination, Danae clung to life hour after hour, with the help of every medical machine and marvel her miniature body could endure. But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana. Because Danae’s under-developed nervous system was essentially raw, the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so they couldn’t even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love. All they could do, as Danae struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl. There was never a moment when Danae suddenly grew stronger.
But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here and an ounce of strength there. At last, when Danae turned two months old, her parents were able to hold her in their arms for the very first time. And two months later-though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero. Danae went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.

Today, five years later, Danae is a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life. She shows no signs, what so ever, of any mental or physical impairment. Simply, she is everything a little girl can be and more-but that happy ending is far from the end of her story.

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving, Texas, Danae was sitting in her mother’s lap in the bleachers of a local ballpark where her brother Dustin’s baseball team was practicing. As always, Danae was chattering non-stop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent. Hugging her arms across her chest, Danae asked, “Do you smell that?” Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied, “Yes, it smells like rain.” Danae closed her eyes and again asked, “Do you smell that?” Once again, her mother replied, “Yes, I think we’re about to get wet, it smells like rain. Still caught in the moment, Danae shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced, “No, it smells like Him. It smells like God when you lay your head on His chest.” Tears blurred Diana’s eyes as Danae then happily hopped down to play with the other children.
Before the rains came, her daughter’s words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, all along. During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, God was holding Danae on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.

First match of the Tri-Nation Tournament between Srilanka and Ireland was abandoned. Second match of the Tri-Nation Tournament was played between Ireland and Scotland. Scotland won the match by 5 wickets.

Today, Srilanka and Scotland played the 3rd ODI match of the Tri-Nation Tournament at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh - Scotland. The toss was won by Scotland and they chose to field first. It's already known that Srilankan's are the better side as they are one of the strongest teams in the world. It is very much clear that Srilanka will be the winner of the day.

Srilanka opened the innings with a good start. The run rate was about average and they were not belting the bowlers though. They played pretty decently and the first wicket partnership resulted in 101 runs. Both the openers made their half centuries. After their fall, there was pretty good contributions from others as well. When the 7th wicket fell, Lasith Malinga came in to bat and he played magnificently and scored 32 runs in just 15 deliveries with 2 fours and 2 sixes. This helped Srilanka to end up with a total score of 284 runs on board.

The total looked huge for the Scottish to bear. The start was poor and they could not score at an average pace right from the start. In 5th over itself they started to loose wicket. It was Lasith Malinga who started to spoil Scotland's batting line up. He took 3 quick wickets which made a huge difference. After this Dammika Prasad took few wickets and finally it was Lasith Malinga who removed the last 2 wickets. Scotland ended up scoring 101 runs only and lost all 10 wickets. Malinga took 5 wickets.

Yesterday, second test match between India and West Indies ended up in a draw. India were very close to the victory but unfortunately they could remove remaining 3 wickets. I just returned to home after watching Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The opening scene is just awesome with all the 3D effects. I will not be telling the story though but will tell you how i felt.

The movie goes smoother till the interval with not much of action. In the second half its fully filled with action. The concept and the script is good. But the thing which i did not like is the introduction of the additional autobot "Sentinel Prime". Instead they should have completely used Megatron and should have eliminated the Sentinal Prime.

The new heroine Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is also good looking and perfect for this part. I liked Bumblebee's fight looked impressive for me. If you ask me to rate the movie, ill rate 8.5 out of 10. But everyone will have different taste, so it always better to watch the movie and then decide whether it was worth or not :-).

My day ended with an depression and sadness

I work for an IT company in Navi Mumbai and my home is nearby to my office (Say 2.5 kms). Usually i leave to home very late around 10:30 PM. Like other days, today i left as usual, but something unusual happened.

I had loads of work today in the office, somehow i managed to finish most of them. At the end of the day after having my dinner in the office, i left to home at 10:20 PM. The night was calm, luckily it was not raining but the climate looked good for me. I almost reach my home, only 300 meters pending. That is where i came across a junction where i saw a bunch of people, cars, bikes and a truck. First i taught there might be a accident, and some people are rescuing the victims. Then as i came closer and closer, i realized that actually they were not rescuing instead they were hitting a boy with an wooden log. I passed them and stopped my bike and peeped at what was actually going there. Later on, these people again attacked another man (He may be around 45+ years of age and he was the driver of the truck). They were whacking him like anything, blood was pouring out from them. Their faces were fully covered with blood.

All of sudden the man who was bleeding came to me and asked me for a help. He actually wanted to go to a police station to give a complaint. I could not deny to his request, so i decided to help him out. He sat behind my bike and i took off from that place. Meanwhile they were still hitting the boy. On the way as we kept on going, i just asked him what was going ? and why they were hitting you?. He told me that the people who were hitting me were in the car. They tried to overtake and my vehicle touched their car. For this reason they are beating us like this. As we kept on going we could see a cop vehicle coming in opposite lane. I just shouted at the cops to stop the vehicle, and they slowed down. I immediately took a U-turn and went to the cops and pleaded them for the help and also asked them to resolve this matter.

This is where my sadness started. The police saw the man and they just came to me and told me that they belong to Mumbai, so you people have to visit Rabale (It's a place in Navi-Mumbai) police station and ask help from them. I was fully shattered after hearing these sentences from the cops. After telling this, they just left without caring for the bleeding person. The driver was also disappointed, so he decided to go back to his truck and take the vehicle. I dropped him near his truck and left to home. After reaching home, when i took my T-shirt off, i could see blood stains all over my shirt. My hand was just shivering, at that time i felt very sorry for not helping him. I couldn't even concentrate on other things. So i decided to share it with all of you so that i can be little relieved.

Things will pass and i tell to those kind of people, every dog gets its chance. It was just a matter of money, for that why should they beat them to death. The worst thing was, the cab was from our office which means that our office people whacked him. Hope so now i will sleep nicely. I pray for them that they get well soon and be blessed.

Today was the fourth day of the first test match that is being played between World no. 1 team India and West Indies at Sabina Park, Kingston - Jamaica. India have already played their 2 innings, it was the responsibility of the hosts to chase down the total. But they could not perform well. By the end of the first session they had lost their 9th wicket as well. There was some expectations from Indian side to take the last wicket before the lunch time. But unfortunately they failed to do so.

After the break, West Indies came back strongly and put up a last wicket partnership of 39 runs. Now the pressure was on Indians to take the last wicket and on the other side, the required run kept on decreasing. Finally it was Suresh Raina who did the honors for the team. West Indies were all out scoring 262 runs (WI - 262/10). India won the match by 63 runs. Praveen Kumar, Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets each.

Now, Indians lead the test series by 1-0. Next test match will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on 28th of June.

First Test match: India vs West Indies

As of now, India are playing their second batting innings. They have already lost 8 wickets and have scored a total of 214 runs (IND - 214/8). They are leading West Indies by 284 runs. Only 2 more wickets to go. The Wall Rahul Dravid has again saved India by his lone battle against the homies. He is still unbeaten scoring 97 runs. Amit Mishra is also showing resistance against the bowling attack. Still its 3rd of the match and second session is going on. Long long way to go and Indians have already lost 8 wickets.

From West Indies point of view, taking another 2 wickets will not be a big deal. The big deal will be to chase the target of around 300 runs will be a big deal. They have to play very patiently and should not give wickets to India that easily. They have plenty of time, almost 2 days and 1 session are there to complete their chase.

If we see the first innings batting performance of the hosts, its very poor as they were all-out scoring only 173 runs. But my intuitions say that, if India fails to put more than 300 for chase, then Indians will have more chances of winning else West Indies will win the match. If you ask me, i will tell that match will never end up in a draw.

Newbies Abhinav Mukund and Murali Vijay opened the batting innings for India. Both did not play well and finally ended up in going back to pavilion. Even experienced player VVS Laxman was not on top today. India have currently scored 69 runs and lost 4 wickets in 25.3 overs (IND: 69/4, 25.3 over). The wall "Rahul Dravid" is still on crease with Suresh Raina. Still session 1 is on and they have already lost 4 wickets which is a bad sign for the Indians. Ravi Rampaul made the break by removing both the openers. As of now West Indians are in strong position.

Today was the last day of the 3rd and the final test which held in The Rose Bowl, Southampton between England and Srilanka. England were in strong hopes that they will win the 3rd test as they outplayed the Srilankans in the first 2 innings and also took 3 wickets in the 3rd innings very quickly. But they could not stop skipper Kumar Sangakkara and Thilan Samaraweera. Skipper scored his century and departed scoring 119 runs. Thilan Samaraweera stayed unbeaten 87 runs before rain could stop the match. The match was drawn.

England won the series by 1-0. First match was won by England and the next 2 matches was drawn. Man of the match was Chris Tremlett and the man of the match was awarded to 2 people Chris Tremlett and Prasanna Jayawardene.

The match is going on at Sabina Park, Kingston - Jamaica. The toss was won by West Indians and they chose to bowl first. Indians opened their batting innings with Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel. Right from the start of the innings, they played very slowly wasting many deliveries. Indians lost 2 wickets very quickly and were suffering to put up a partnership, even Manoj Tiwary failed to stay long. Later, Rohit Sharma came in and partnered with Virat Kohli and put up a very good partnership of 110 runs which was very much required partnership at that point of time. Kohli scored a magnificent 94 runs and failed to put up a century. Rohit Sharma also departed after scoring his half century. After the break of this partnership, Indians again started to feel pressure and the runs started to slow down. Finally they ended up scoring a total of 251 runs loosing all the 10 wickets in 47.3 over (Ind - 251/10, 47.3 over). Andre Russell took 4 wickets.

The total looks pretty ok for me. This can be defended easily. Now the pressure is on West Indies side.

Currently, The World Champion India has toured West Indies and have already played 1 T20 match and 4 ODI matches. India has won T20 match and 3 ODI matches so far. Hosts, West Indies team has won only one ODI match.

India has toured West Indies, where they play 1 T20 match, 5 ODI matches and 3 Test matches. Out of these already 1 T20 match and 4 ODI matches are played. India have won the T20 match and also 2 ODI matches thereby clean sweeping the ODI series from West Indies. Now the 4th and 5th ODI match was to be played for pride.

As usual Team India was fielding first. In the first 3 ODI's India fielded first and won all the matches. But yesterday unusual happened when they faced West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. West Indies played pretty decently to put up a total score of 249 runs loosing 8 wickets. Kieron Pollard and Lendl Simmons played some pretty decent knocks which brought them back in the game when they lost 5 wickets very badly.

India needed 250 runs to win the match, but this time things did not favor towards Indians. They started to feel the pressure and loose wickets. In just 39 overs, India were all-out scoring only 146 runs. West Indies won the match by 103 runs. Anthony Martin was main man behind this victory as he took 3 important and much required wickets for the team. After this ODI match, the series is 3-1. Though the series has already been won by India, its time for West Indies to win last match for pride.

One of the worst day of my life :-(

Today was one the most disappointed day of my life. IGate Patni conducted cricket fest 2011 and i was playing for "Pirates" team and we had already won 2 matches. Today, it was our 3rd match and with this victory we were supposed to enter quarter finals. But things went in vain, Similar to Chennai 600028 movie, even our team played so badly. First wicket fell in the very first ball itself and i was also duck out in the very 3rd delivery of the innings. In 6 overs we could only manage to score a total of 31 which was the lowest total of the season. The opponents "On the Rocks" had to score only 32 runs to win the match and it was very easy. First over was bowled by our skipper and he went for 15 runs in which 9 runs was extras. Second over also went for 15 runs in which 5 runs was from extras. in just 2 overs they scored 30 runs and 2 runs needed to win the match with 10 wickets on hand and 4 overs to go. I got the 3rd over to bowl, there was nothing left to defend as they required only 2 runs to win, but i wanted to take 1 wicket at least so that we can restrict them from telling that they won with no loss. First ball was an slip catch for keeper, but he failed to take it. Getting disappointed i bowled a wide and finished the match for them. On the Rocks won the match by 10 wickets. It was the most frustrating loss for me. For this loss: i spoiled my weekend sleep, skipped my breakfast and was out in sun :-(

Apart from this, my home teams Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to lift the cup in IPL 2011 finals. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings batted first and belted every bowler and made a total of 205 runs. In reply to this, Royal Challengers Bangalore could not even reach at least 150 runs. They lost the match very badly. This was my another disappointment of the day.

RCB are back again.... now into IPL finals

It was an joyful day for me as RCB took their revenge on MI by winning the match. In the first playoff match, CSK and RCB faced each other. CSK won the match and marked their place in the IPL4 finals.

I was not disappointed at all, because i had confidence that RCB will definitely outplay MI and so i was cool. I considered it as an opportunity for the RCB to take their revenge on MI as they had been defeated by them in the league match. Things went well today for RCB as the big man Chris Gayle alone belted all the bowlers of MI. He just played magnificently and took the pressure off for the rest of the batsmen. He scored 89 runs in just 47 deliveries that included 9 fours and 5 sixes. RCB in their first innings scored a total of 185 and lost 4 wickets. I was not sure at that time the RCB will reach finals that easily.

But things went on Royal Challengers Bangalore way, All most all the bowlers bowled well. RCB skipper Daniel Vettori was very economical and took 3 major wickets. Mumbai Indians were struggling to score runs till the end of the innings. They could only manage to score a total of 142 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. Thereby Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by 43 runs. Mumbai Indians dream of lifting up the IPL trophy again comes to an end.

Now RCB has better chance to lift the cup as they have one more revenge pending in their account. In this IPL, CSK won against RCB in the playoff. Thank god for the playoff system, due to this my team RCB is back on track again. The best part is that it is the time for RCB to have their revenge and lift the IPL trophy for the first time.

Today, First IPL finals qualifier match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at Wankhade stadium, Mumbai. The toss was won by MS Dhoni and he chose to field first.

Royal Challengers Bangalore was looking more destructive when Chris Gayle was on the crease, but today was not the day for the big man. He departed after hitting a six leaving RCB in jeopardy. Later on Virat Kohli added some magnificent runs and made RCB to put up a total of 175 runs on board.

Yesterday's IPL match was very crucial for the top 4 four teams. The top four teams before the match were,
1. Chennai Super Kings
2. Royal Challengers Bangalore
3. Mumbai Indians
4. Kolkata Knight Riders

Before their 14th IPL match, it was already known that these 4 teams are into playoffs. Now the fight was to get into first 2 positions to gain advantage. If they could not, atleast they should get into first 3 positions to get an entry to Champions League. It was already known that RCB and CSK are into Champions League even if they loose the match. There were so many combinations possible like, if CSK wins, RCB will end up 3rd. if CSK looses, RCB comes first and CSK ends up 2nd only if their net run rate is better than MI. On the other hand, If KKR wins against MI, they have chances to get into 2nd or 3rd position depending upon how CSK looses against RCB. If MI wins, KKR ends up 4th position there by missing Champions League this time.

Yesterday first match was played between RCB and CSK. CSK put up a total of 128 runs only as they could not face RCB's bowling attack. It was skipper MS Dhoni who helped to put up this total. Today, Delhi Daredevils lost one more match and the worst thing was it was an home match. They played against Kolkata Knight Riders ( the most hated team by me at the moment) at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. The toss was also favoring to Delhi Daredevils. But they made a wrong decision: they took fielding first. Still Delhi Daredevils are at the bottom of the ranking table.

Kolkata Knight Riders opened their batting innings with their openers Jacques Kallis and Shreevats Goswami. There was no aggressive start given by them, it was just a stable opening with ball to ball run rate. The wickets were falling in quick intervals. Gautam Gambhir also could not make it big today. It was Manoj Tiwary's day as he helped the team to put up a decent total on board. In the end there was some contribution given by Ryan ten Doeschate. In 20 overs, KKR scored a total of 148 runs and lost 7 wickets (KKR - 148/7, 20 over). Manoj Tiwary was unbeaten till the end scoring 61 runs on board. Irfan Pathan was the most economical bowler with a economy rate of just 4 runs per over and took 1 wicket.

This target did not look challenging for the Delhi Daredevils as it was chase-able total and the advantage was that it was their home ground. Opener David Warner did not play well today and the skipper Virender Sehwag took the charge and scored some beautiful knocks. After the departure of Sehwag, Delhi middle order got collapsed and lost wicket very quickly. At one point of time they had lost 6 wickets and scored only 85 runs. The lower order batsmen could not outplay the bowling attack of KKR and they tried very hard to chase the total. In the end, they failed to chase the target and ended up scoring a total of 131 runs loosing 9 wickets in 20 overs (DD - 131/9, 20 over). Iqbal Abdulla took 3 wickets.

Ahhhhh!!! today was one of the day that had lot of actions. First thing is, it is Saturday. I slept at around 3:15 A.M. and woke up around 11:05 A.M.

After readying myself, i went straight away to my office and had my breakfast cum Lunch at 12:00 P.M. After this next place i visited was Employee Care Center (ECC). I was there till 6:00 P.M. where i played pool from 12:25 P.M. till 4:30 P.M. I enjoyed myself there, sometimes played very good shoots and sometimes worst shots. Victory and defeat as well. After coming out from pool table, i landed at GYM where i did workout for my back for 45 minutes with little bit exercises for my abs. Once i was done with my workout, straight away went to dormitory removed my gym clothes and wore my swimming costume and went for swimming. Did swimming for 15 min and was back to dormitory where i took bath. Then i dressed up went to canteen and had some juices just to energize myself as i was fully exhausted.

Then i went to my ODC and rested for 25 min at my desk. During this time i unlocked my PC and started checking for mails and blogs. At 6:45 P.M. i left office, took my bike and left to home. After coming home, i spent some time on Facebook. Meanwhile, the IPL match started which was between Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab. The match so interesting that i spent almost all the time watching the match itself. In entire 40 overs, there were 433 runs scored in total by both the teams. Plenty of sixes and fours and full excitement and masti. Finally had my dinner at Andhra Mess and came back home and watched the remaining match. Delhi Daredevils won the match. Now i am lying on my bed and writing this article to publish it to everyone.

I hate SRK and his team KKR

Now a days i have started to hate Kolkata Knight Riders team itself. The reason behind this is that SRK. Yes it is because of Sharukh Khan after his statement where he told that "KKR has to win the cup dedicated to Sourav Ganguly". This was the statement that put me into rage on SRK.

If he wanted to win this IPL then why the hell he did not even care to bid the legend???? Once the things are passed away then never and ever should turn back. He left DADA and now he wants him to come and watch the match to support KKR. This is full of bullshit and everything is business in here.

In reality what i feel is, Eden Garden made a record of lowest audience presence in history and hence less collection of money. SRK does not want like this to happen again and hence now he is playing this new trick just to improvise his business. But we people (fans of DADA) always want to see him play and he is a legend whom not to be forgotten at all. No DADA, no support to KKR.

Yesterday, a match was played between Chennai Super Kings and Kochi Tuskers Kerala at Nehru Stadium, Kochi. The match was delayed due to rain and later it was restricted to 17 overs. KTK won the toss and they chose to field first.

Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay opened the batting innings for CSK. Hussey did not play for long time as he departed after scoring only 8 runs. Suresh Raina came in and batted well to score a half-century. There were some good contribution from the middle order batsmen as well. In 17 overs, CSK put up a total score of 131 runs and lost 4 wickets (CSK - 131/4, 17 over). Vinay Kumar was economical bowler but did not pick up a any wickets.

KTK needed 134 runs to win by D/L method. Brendon McCullum and Mahela Jayawardena started the batting for KTK. The run rate at the start was pretty good. After the departure of the openers, Parthiv Patel, Brad Hodge, Ravindra Jadeja played magnificently and the eased the pressure off. Today, Delhi Daredevils took over Pune Warriors India at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. Toss was won by Virender Sehwag and they chose to field first.

Jesse Ryder and Graeme Smith opened the batting innings for the PWI. The start good but not an aggressive one though. The big man Graeme Smith in the last delivery of the fourth over. Jesse Ryder played an magnificent and so did the skipper Yuvaraj Singh. Jesse Ryder departed scoring 60 runs in just 27 deliveries that included 5 fours and 5 sixes. In the 20th over, Yuvaraj Singh did the real damage for the Delhi Daredevils. He scored 3 consecutive sixes in the last 3 deliveries. He remained unbeaten scoring 66 runs from 33 balls that included 4 fours and 5 sixes. In 20 overs, PWI managed to put up a total score of 187 runs loosing 5 wickets (PWI - 187/5, 20 over).

So far DD have not won a single match in this season and this score was a pretty big total for them as well. David Warner and Virender Sehwag started the innings off. They both played well and were belting the bowlers in every angle they could. First wicket partnership was worth 75 runs in just 7 overs. David Warner was the first wicket to fall and soon skipper Sehwag followed him. After this fall, another 3 more wickets fell very quickly and the hopes kept on fading out as the wicket started to fall. Venugopal Rao and Aaron Finch played well and eased the pressure off by hitting 3 sixes and 2 sixes respectively. But they both did not stay till the end. It was James Hopes in which the hopes for the Delhi Daredevils was back. He just utilized the opportunity and scored a magnificent runs in just 4 balls and won the match for Delhi Daredevils with 4 deliveries to spare. Delhi Daredevils scored 190 runs in 19.2 overs and lost 7 wickets (DD - 190/7, 19.2 over). Yuvaraj Singh took 4 important wickets for PWI.

Delhi Daredevils won the match by 3 wickets. Man of the match was Yuvaraj Singh for his magnificent performance with bat and ball.

As the total was little high, the pressure was on the RCB. The start was slow and more over they lost their first wicket in the second over itself. It was a biggie Tillakaratne Dilshan and after this Zaheer Khan was sent to bat but even was back in the same pace scoring a duck. In 11.1 overs, RCB lost 5 wickets and scored only 56 runs. The match had almost slipped from them to DC. Pujara and Virat Kohli played some good knocks and put up a partnership which helped RCB to get back confidence. This partnership was their last hope but it went in vain when Pujara got out. Things changed and DC became more dominant. RCB ended up scoring a total of only 142 runs and lost 9 wickets in 20 overs (RCB - 142/9, 20 over). Virat Kohli was the top run getter for RCB, he scored 71 runs in 52 deliveries that included 5 fours and 3 sixes. Manpreet Gony and Dale Steyn took 3 wickets each.

It was Paul Valthaty's day as he kept on his momentum going, his partners gave him enough support but the partnerships were not building that much though. At one point of time, it look almost impossible for the KXIP to win the match, but Valthaty made the difference. He just played awesome right from the beginning of the innings till the end. He scored his IPL maiden century and remained unbeaten scoring 120 runs in just 63 deliveries that included 19 fours and 2 sixes. Kings XI Punjab won the match by 6 wickets. Man of the match was Paul Valthaty who was solely responsible for winning the match.

Shane Watson and Ricky Ponting opened the batting innings for Australia. Right from the start of the innings they started to hit the ball every corner of the ground. First wicket partnership was 110 runs and Shane Watson was the first wicket to fall. He scored a magnificent 72 runs in just 40 deliveries that included 11 fours and 3 sixes. Ponting and Michael Clarke could not complete their half-centuries. They were short of 3 runs just before getting out. Later on, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah put up a partnership of 79 runs that helped Bangla's to end up with a decent total to defend. Suresh Raina came in to bat and put up a partnership of 75 runs which helped CSK to add up some good runs on board. After the departure of Raina, things slowed down and the run rate fell. Finally Chennai Super Kings managed to put up a total score of 153 runs on board for the loss of 4 wickets (CSK - 153/4, 20 over). Aniruda Srikkanth was the top scorer of the team who scored a magnificent 64 runs in 55 deliveries which included 6 fours and 2 sixes. Jacques Kallis managed to pick up 2 wickets for KKR.

Kolkota Knight Riders after restricting CSK to 153, opened its batting innings with the openers Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis. The start was just rocking and they were just cruising in with runs. In the 9th over, CSK were back with the removal of Manvinder Bisla's wicket. This was the first blow for KKR. After the fall of the dangerous Yusuf Pathan and Jacques Kallis, KKR were in real trouble as the required kept on increasing rapidly. At one point of time, KKR required 9 runs from just 8 balls. But Manoj Tiwary did not maintain his calm and he got out by getting stumped by MS Dhoni. Soon Laxmi Shukla followed him. KKR ended up its batting innings scoring 151 runs for the loss of 7 wickets (KKR - 151/7, 20over). Skipper MS Dhoni made 3 stump outs and one run-out.

In the finals of the ICC World Cup 2011, India became the new champions by defeating their sub-continent team Srilanka on Saturday, thereby breaking the winning jinx of the Aussies. Australia won 3 titles continuously 1999, 2003 and 2007. In the quarter finals Aussies played against India and finally got defeated by the Indians. The defending champions had to quit the tournament and return to home empty.

In the finals, Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni played magnificently and helped the team to chase the total successfully. Gautam Gambhir could not get his century as he got out after scoring 97 runs. Similarly, Indian skipper MS Dhoni scored a unbeaten 91 runs but could not get a century. Both Gauti and Dhoni were awesome with bat in finals which helped team India to lift the trophy after 28 years. Finally Sachin Tendulkar's 20 year dream came true.

Now the IPL season has began, The matches will be starting from Tomorrow i.e, 8th April. The match will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkota Knight Riders. The best part in this is, Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni will be competing against each other. The team mates who put up a great partnership will be now pulling each others leg in this IPL 2011.

Yesterday, India won semi-finals against Pakistan at Mohali and enter into finals. Earlier to this, first semi-finals was played between Srilanka and Newzealand. Srilanka won the match and they were the first team to enter into the finals of World Cup 2011. Now India will be playing against its sub-continent Srilanka in the finals of the World Cup on Saturday at Wankhede pitch, Mumbai.

The 2 two teams a similar kind of background,
India have won 1 world cup so far, So is Srilanka.
India have entered 2 finals and 3rd time they are appearing, So is Srilanka.
In the very first finals, India has won the World Cup, So is Srilanka.
In the second finals, India lost to Australia, So is Srilanka.

Apart from this, the only advantage Srilanka have is that they have a well balanced team. Their bowling performance is just brilliant so far. This is lacking in India side. But India has a luck factor with them.

Today first semi-finals of the World Cup 2011 was played between Srilanka and New Zealand at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. This was the most important match for the Kiwis as they have never won a World Cup in history. The Victory over Srilanka was a best chance for them to win a World Cup 2011. Srilankan's have already geared up to lift the cup and they are looking to finish up the things easily. The toss went into the favor of New Zealand and they chose to bat first.

Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum opened the batting innings for Kiwis. They gave a slow and stable start. The run rate was not on average. Srilankan's kept the pressure on the Kiwis right from the start of the innings so that the Kiwis could not go for big hits. They managed to pick 3 wickets when the total score was 84 runs which was hit in 21.3 overs. After this fall there was a good partnership of 77 runs that helped the Kiwis to come out of the critical situation. When Ross Taylor departed, things changed and the Kiwis started to loose wickets and finally Scott Styris who played a big innings got out. Srilanka won the match by 5 wickets. Man of the match was Kumar Sangakkara. Now the Srilankan's are into the finals of the World Cup 2011. They will be playing against India or Pakistan on 2nd of April in Mumbai.

The last quarter-finals was played between England and Srilanka today at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The toss went in to the favor of England and they chose to bat first. This game was an a crucial game for England as they have not even won a World Cup so far. Being a strong team, England were looking to dominate Srilankan's in their home ground.

Andrew Strauss and Ian Bell gave a very slow start. Their intention was not to play big shots and make huge total. They were looking to play calm and put up a good total. But this did not work as they lost 2 big wickets in the first 10 overs and their total was just 31 runs when they lost both the openers. After this 2 fall, there was 2 good partnership that helped England to recover from the collapse. But the run rate was very low. When fourth wicket fell, their total was only 186 runs consuming 43 overs. England ended up their batting innings with a total score of 229 runs in 50 overs and lost only 6 wickets (ENG - 229/6, 50 over). Highest scorer in the team was Jonathan Trott who scored 86 runs and Eion Morgan scored a half-century. Muralidaran took 2 wickets.

This total was not that challenging for the Srilankan's. Upul tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan opened the batting innings for Srilanka. Jesse Ryder and Ross Taylor played well and put up a partnership of 114 runs which helped the kiwis to recover a bit. Ross Taylor gave a catch to Jacques Kallis and went back scoring 43 runs consuming 72 deliveries. After this fall, Kiwis could not resist the bowling attack of the South Africans and the wickets kept on falling in regular fashion.
