On the 9th day of the ICC World Cup 2011, 2 matches were played. First match was between Zimbabwe and Canada at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur, India. Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bat first.
Brendan Taylor and Charles Coventry opened the batting innings for Zimbabwe. In the very first delivery of the innings, Brendan Taylor returned back to pavilion as he was given lbw. They kept on loosing wickets in regular manner with the scoring run rate getting lesser and lesser. Not even a single batsmen could resist the Zimbabwe bowlers for longer time. By 42.1 overs, they lost all 10 wickets and scored only 123 runs. Ray Price and Graeme Cremer took 3 wickets each for the team.
