Kolkata Knight Riders won by 24 runs

Kolkata Knight Riders played their home at Eden Garden against the visitors Deccan Chargers today. Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss & elected to bat first.
Kolkata Knight Riders gave an aggressive start with the openers Chris Gayle & the skipper Sourav Ganguly. They lost Christ Gayle in the 3rd over where cheers went down because the big hitter of KKR was gone. But nothing changed, Kolkata Knight Riders were still dominating the match as skipper Sourav Ganguly played a brilliant knock of 88 runs from 54 balls which included 9 fours & 5 sixes. This helped Kolkata Knight Riders to put up a score of 181 runs in total in 20 overs loosing 6 wickets. Deccan Chargers only bowler who had good econmony in the match was Jaskaran Singh with a economy of 6 runs per over.
Chasing the target of 182 set by Kolkata Knight Riders, Deccan Chargers opened their innings with the skipper Adam Gilchrist & Herschelle Gibbs. Adam Gilchrist was out in the 3rd over, but the run rate was still good for Deccan Chargers Gibbs & Symonds played well to score 50 & 45 respectively, but this did work out for Deccan Chargers. As soon as Gibbs & Rohit Sharma were out, the run rate required to win increased a lot, even Symonds could not compensate. So Deccan Chargers could not successfully chase their target. They lost the match by just scoring 157 runs in 20 overs loosing 5 wickets. Hence Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 24 runs. This was their 4th victory in this IPL edition 3.
