Third day of the test match was over yesterday. South Africa had finished their first innings scoring 346 runs loosing all 10 wickets. They had given a lead of 115 runs to the hosts. West Indies began their second batting innings. They had to recover the lead & have to put some huge score on board either to win the match or make it a draw. Again top order batsmen failed to hit big scores for the team as they all fell soon. Only Shivnarine Chanderpaul survived & played some beautiful knocks scoring a half century. West Indies at the end of the day they had lost 7 wickets & had scored just 134 runs in total. Now WI are leading South Africans by just 19 runs which is a very critical situation for the hosts. They have to build some good and great partnerships for the remaining 3 wickets to keep their hopes alive. Right now South Africans are looking strong to win the match easily. Lets wait & watch what happens.

5th ODI : India vs Srilanka

India played Srilanka in the 5th ODI of the tri-series today at Harare Sports Club, Harare. India out of 3 matches has won only 1 match. Zimbabwe is looking comfortable as they have almost made into finals. On the other hand it is almost difficult situation for India to make it to finals of the series. This is a supposed to be a must win match for India.

Sri Lanka won the toss & requested India to bat first. In today’s play India has replaced one of its openers; it was Naman Ojha playing instead of Murali Vijay. India gave a poor start, their run rate was around 4 runs per over in the first 10 over. Yusuf Pathan & Virat Kohli played for some time & scored 41 & 68 runs respectively which helped India to put up decent total. After the fall of these 2 wickets, other players contributed some more runs. India scored 268 runs loosing all 9 wickets in 50 overs, which was a good come back for India after loosing all top order batsmen. Main contribution was from 51 runs partnership which was between Ravindra Jadeja & Ravichandran Ashwin. Suraj Randiv bowled beautifully taking 2 important wickets & his was economy rate was just 3.8 runs per over completing 10 overs.

Chasing the target of 269 runs, Srilanka started their batting innings with the openers, Upul Tharanga & Tillakaratne Dilshan. Dilshan was out when Srilanka had scored 29 runs in 5.1 overs. Dinesh Chandimal played too good where he gave good partnership with Upul Tharanga, Chamara Kapugedara & Jeewan Mendis. Zimbabwe stuns India once again

India played Zimbabwe 4th ODI of the tri-series at Harare Sports Club, Harare. Previously, Zimbabwe had won the match against Indians in the 1st ODI by 7 wickets. It was repay day for the mighty Indians. Zimbabwe won the toss & put the Indians to bat first.

As usual, Dinesh Karthik & Murali Vijay opened the innings for India. They both batted at a slower rate, but failed to make it big. Dinesh Karthik was out scoring just 33 runs from 47 deliveries which looked OK for me, but Murali Vijay scored only 21 runs from 56 deliveries. According to me, this was a worst performance given by any other opener from India. After this loss, no one sustained for longer time, even the biggies, Suresh Raina & Rohit Sharma both got run out. Only Ravindra Jadeja played nicely & scored a half-century. In 50 overs, India had put just 194 runs total loosing 9 wickets. Andy Blignaut was the successful bowler for Zimbabwe with the economy of just 2.2 runs per over & took a wicket. Apart from him, all other bowlers also bowled well & economy was less than 4.5 runs per over.

Zimbabwe needed just 195 runs in 50 overs, this was supposed to be a cake walk for them. Hamilton Masakadza & Brendan Taylor played magnificently & scored 66 & 74 runs respectively. Zimbabwe's first wicket partnership was 128 runs, which really helped them a lot. Zimbabwe reached their target in just 38.2 overs thereby winning the match by 7 wickets. This was another stunning performance shown the Zimbabwe team. Now Zimbabwe looks comfortable as they have almost made their entry to the finals. Next match will be between India & Srilanka, let's see what happens there.

India vs Zimbabwe : Its time to pay back

After taking the revenge on Srilanka, now India have their chance to take revenge on Zimbabwe in today's match. In the first match of the tri-series which was played between Zimbabwe & India, Zimbabwe made a stunning 6-wicket win against the Indians. Now, all the 3 teams have won only one match. India has to win today in order to make it to finals which will be played on 9th of June.

Though they had lost to Zimbabwe in the first match, Indians won against Srilanka with 49 deliveries to spare. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli & skipper Suresh Raina all seems to be in good form. But the openers Dinesh Karthik & Murali Vijay have not put up a good start till now. On the other hand, openers Hamilton Masakadza & Brendon Taylor are playing magnificently who are capable of giving a aggressive start. But this is not enough for Zimbabwe to repeat their winning magic against the mighty Indians. Let's wait & watch :-)
